The labor movement's newspaper (Maizeitung) from 1869 (b/w photo); (add.info.: Germany Double-sided sheet of an Art journal from 1896, published by the Vorwärts-Verlag in the labor movement's newspaper (Maizeitung). Under the motto 'Proletarians of all countries, unite!' two marches meet in the middle on May 1. The protesters on the right are working in the city, under the slogan 'Hurray for the 8-hour day', the protesters on the left are agricultural workers and peasants who are holding a flag with the slogan 'Away with the Servants' Law' Maizeitung, 1869);  © SZ Photo / IBL  Doppelseitiges Kunstblatt aus der 1896 im Vorwärts-Verlag erschienenen Maizeitung der Arbeiterbewegung. Unter dem Motte 'Proletarier aller Länder vereinigt euch!' sind zwei Demonstrationszüge zum 1. Mai dargerstellt, die sich in der Mitte treffen. Die rechten Demonstranten sind Arbeiter aus der Stadt, die unter dem Motto 'Hoch der 8-Stunden-Tag' demonstrieren, die linken Demonstranten sind Landarbeiter und Bauern, die sich 'Fort mit der Gesindeordnung' auf die Fahnen geschrieben haben.
